Passing That Product Sense With Vibe Coding Interview
"I passed my first product sense interview in a while with a principal PM interview! I used your framework and I got an accept from the team within like 6 mins of completing the interview," said a client.
"I definitely felt like I succeeded in that particular round thanks to your structured thinking. It was also a vibe coding interview but all they wanted to see was my thinking, and to use AI to prototype, not to use AI for product sense thinking."
2 things in their message stood out.
The 1st is what the hiring team was actually looking for. The team did not want AI doing the product sense for them. They wanted to see how my client thought, and AI was a prototyping tool inside that thinking. The thinking still had to be theirs.
The 2nd is what made the difference. After the win, I asked what felt different about the framework we worked on compared to what they had been doing before.
They said: "Way less strategic. And over-indexed on segmentation of users and their needs that was becoming a bottomless pit."
A lot of people prepping right now will recognize that description. The framing we worked on solved it. 6 minutes after they finished, the team said yes.
